Last year we planted a smallish garden but it was enough to keep our family of 7 in vegetables for the whole summer. We didn't eat any store bought veggies for the entire season and it was WONDERFUL!
This year we're expanding so we can have enough to can/freeze/dry as well. So last weekend we spent a Saturday building five 4 x 14 foot raised bed boxes. They turned out quite nicely!
Today we started the first of our seedlings, the cooler weather plants or those that require an extra long growing season. We had a bit of help :)

Celery
French Marigolds (to keep bugs away)
Green Peppers
Hot Peppers

Lettuce
Parsley
Rhubarb
